If you don't prepare yourself to face problems in life and suddenly a problem arrived, then you will have to depend on your luck or the people around you to get around the problem.
A. 靠神不如靠人
The spirit stuffs e.g. ghosts/gods may or may not be present and is not 100% dependable. For example during the yearly haze period, in those 3 months none of the gods/ghosts/angels/fairies/devils have the power to defeat the human that are burning the forest.
It is advisable to build close relationship with family members and friends and help each other during difficult time.
B. 靠人不如靠己
In some cases, even your close friends & family members can't help you. In other cases, they can help but are unable to immediately help you.
So build up skills that can help you to handle different situations and emergency situations in life. Don't wait til it happen.
Save up some money. Exercise to build up strength and stamina. Tame your ego and learn to force yourself to smile in difficult situations.
If a smile can solve a problem, that is great. Else use money to solve it and avoid confrontation. If not, then either give it a good fight, or flee if you are weaker than the enemy.
1 defeat is just 1 defeat. The sun rises again the next morning. Everyone around you face defeat, very often, throughout their life.
If u learn a lesson from the defeat, u become wiser and more experience in life. You become a better and stronger person.

If all things fail, just retreat & have a good rest. Time will pass and heal your wound. Time will always pass. Nobody can stop time. Just keep yourself busy at work and time will pass quickly without you knowing it.

Don't spend crazy amount of money to 'buy' protection or blessing from spirits/gods. They are just the ghost of dead people. In comparison, they are similar to the ghosts of your great grandparents.

ReplyDeleteI recently rent a kumanthong (golden boy) and I only have 1 katha.. how many katha do you have when you got your babies???
ReplyDeleteI am supposed to have 6 different katha. However I don't recite them as I don't understand the foreign language. Usually I will bring the kumantong to a Thai Buddhist temple, told the Thai monk that I brought my kumantong for prayer and blessing, and the monk will chant a prayer for the kumantong. And this is also a good chance to make donation to the charity.

ReplyDelete1. I am from a different country but have a kuman thong. Is it possible that the Thai boy's spirit, after moving on to the light, will be replaced by the spirit of a boy from my country, or will it be the spirit of another Thai boy?
2. Should food offerings be disposed of after, or may they be eaten by the living?
3. I too have a few katha. May I simply translate them to our local language, since language, after, is an expression from the heart?

My personal opinion:
1. i guess other spirit (same/different form) might seek shelter in the empty kuman thong shell. But if your house is guarded by guardian angel / deity / god / ancestor spirits etc, then the foreign spirit will be unable to enter your house in the first place.
2. if the food offering is not kept for too long and did not turn bad, some people do eat them. Food offering can be in the form of biscuit, bread, wafer, chips or chocolate in sealed packet. These can last a long time when kept in the sealed packaging.
3. This is controversial. If Kuman Tong communicate by feeling, then there will not be any language barrier, right?
Kuman Tong from different temples / monks are built & educated differently and may require different ways of caring. So if you receive feedback from your kuman tong through dreams, then make adjustment if necessary.
